Sustainability
Sustainability in art is not where we want it to be. Artworks do not proceed in a cyclical flow – often, the cycle of a work ends before it even begins, with its sale from A to B. MoHA will rent, sell, and re-rent the same artwork, ensuring that its economic life does not end when it goes from A to B. Since the artwork's life does not end, the stakeholders around it will continue to benefit from it. Thus, the artwork will continue its life in a sustainable cycle, creating a sharing ecosystem in art, and a single artwork will continuously generate new stakeholders for itself.
In terms of sustainability:
The artwork will constantly visit new venues by being rented or sold, and the amount spent on an artwork will dramatically increase in both size and quantity;
Thanks to the artwork's cyclical journey, the artist's recognition will be much greater, appealing to much different socioeconomic groups, and thus gaining popularity; the artist will be able to continuously circulate their works without selling them and will not have to sell a beloved work out of necessity – similarly, they can reap the benefits of the appreciation in value of their own work if they wish;
Commercial users will not be forced to stock up and then dispose of inventory, nor will they incur purchasing costs, they will not have to keep an artwork continuously in their space, and they will be able to constantly refresh their space with different artworks; furthermore, MoHA barcodes will be kept on rented artworks, and if an artwork is sold through the commercial space where it is rented, that space can also receive a commission for acting as a "gallery";
New sharing and revenue models will be created for many stakeholders. As the system grows and develops, it will spontaneously generate new stakeholders and revenue models;
MoHA will create a new "generation of art lovers" by establishing a sharing economy system. There will be art lovers who can invest more easily and access art more easily;
MoHA's model, which creates two-way support for art lovers and artists, will ensure healthy growth in art;
Contributions to the environment will be made through reductions in storage costs and carbon footprint studies during the transportation phase;
Online maps will show where rented artworks are located and how long they will remain there, thereby including everyone in the sharing economy (someone in Bağcılar will be able to rent an artwork located in Bebek); reasonable capsule collections will be made with famous artists, allowing art lovers to rent/buy the works of those artists – this will be an important step towards eliminating income/access/well-being inequality.
