Having her curate a selection for MoHA isn’t just a sweet idea for us; it’s a small but powerful story that explains why MoHA exists.

Because we don’t believe that art is solely the domain of experts, collectors, or adults. A child’s excitement and curiosity when looking at a work of art—and the meaning they draw from it based on their own world—is just as valuable as an adult’s interpretation. There’s no set age, title, or single “right” answer when it comes to connecting with art.

Rona is fascinated by wild cats and birds of prey; she’s particularly knowledgeable about tigers and eagles. She can go on at length about which birds fly at what altitudes and how big cats hunt. She rides motocross, enjoys skiing and judo, and listens to metal music. She’s also an amazing artist. But she doesn’t need grand statements, ambitious intentions, or special preparation to draw. She just feels like it and draws—on paper, on the wall, on the floor, on a chair… 

Rona’s selection reminds us of this: Art is sometimes chosen through knowledge, sometimes through intuition, and sometimes simply through that inner feeling of “I like this.” MoHA’s philosophy begins precisely here: to transform art into an experience that is more accessible, more free, and one where everyone can forge their own connection.
